Answer- It is clear from the height that the cities and valleys of different countries are situated near the rivers. In addition, it also means that the Earth is round and has more sea than land.

Answer- From the heights, it’s hard to understand why men on earth hate each other and find reasons to build and kill walls in cities. This means that nature does not limit itself in boundaries, but humans are always working hard to divide the beautiful planet by building walls among themselves.

Geography Lesson Poem Question 1:

Sum up the main ideas of the poem in about 50 words. (Imp.)


The poet flew over the city in a jet plane. He found the city spread out in a chaotic (disorderly) manner. But he knew it was inevitable. From a height of 10,000 feet, he saw rivers and valleys. He understood very well why the valleys were populated. Land and water facilities attract people. This was the logic of geography.

From a height of six miles, he saw that the earth was round and had more sea than land. But he failed to understand why people hate each other, divide the land into different units and kill each other.


Geography Lesson Poem Question 2:

What lesson of Geography did the poet learn when he flew above his city?


As the poet flies in a jet, he notices that the cities below were not properly planned. He could see why this was so. From a height of 10,000 feet, he saw that the valleys were populated. It was quite reasonable and understandable. It was the compulsion of geography that people should settle on flat land and places with plenty of water and food. It is quite illogical why people hate and kill each other. This is very inhuman.


Geography lesson poem summary

In the first verse (Stanza), the poet describes a view of the city from an airplane, which is flying high in the sky. He says that it became clear to him why the city developed according to the needs of the people and not according to proper planning. When the poet looked at the city from the sky, he felt unplanned and disorganized. It does not have any particular style or design.

पहले श्लोक में, कवि एक हवाई जहाज से शहर के एक दृश्य का वर्णन करता है, जो आकाश में ऊंची उड़ान भर रहा है। उनका कहना है कि उन्हें यह स्पष्ट हो गया था कि शहर का विकास लोगों की जरूरतों के अनुसार क्यों हुआ, न कि उचित योजना के अनुसार। कवि ने आकाश से नगर की ओर देखा तो उसे अनियोजित और अव्यवस्थित लगा। इसकी कोई विशेष शैली या डिजाइन नहीं है।


In the second verse (Stanza), When the airplane took off at a height of ten thousand feet above the ground, he came to know that cities are located near rivers because people like to live near valleys. He clearly understood the logic of geography and learned that people have settled on land where water is easily available. Water is the basic need of human life and it is necessary for various important activities like agriculture, business, etc.

जब हवाई जहाज ने जमीन से दस हजार फीट की ऊंचाई पर उड़ान भरी, तो उसे पता चला कि शहर नदियों के पास स्थित हैं क्योंकि लोग घाटियों के पास रहना पसंद करते हैं। उन्होंने भूगोल के तर्क को स्पष्ट रूप से समझा और सीखा कि लोग उस भूमि पर बस गए हैं जहाँ पानी आसानी से उपलब्ध है। जल मानव जीवन की मूलभूत आवश्यकता है और यह कृषि, व्यवसाय आदि विभिन्न महत्वपूर्ण गतिविधियों के लिए आवश्यक है।


In the third verse (Stanza), When the plane reached an altitude of 6 miles, the Earth appeared round. The poet found that the earth has more water than the land. He understood the reason for this because there are more seas on earth than land. However, one thing the poet could not understand is why on earth people hate each other. They have created walls of hatred in cities to kill each other.

जब विमान 6 मील की ऊंचाई पर पहुंचा तो पृथ्वी गोल दिखाई दी। कवि ने पाया कि पृथ्वी में भूमि से अधिक जल है। वह इसका कारण समझ गया क्योंकि पृथ्वी पर भूमि से अधिक समुद्र है। हालाँकि, एक बात कवि को समझ नहीं आ रही थी कि पृथ्वी पर लोग एक-दूसरे से नफरत क्यों करते हैं। उन्होंने एक-दूसरे को मारने के लिए शहरों में नफरत की दीवारें खड़ी कर दी हैं।
